In close proximity to the east pass is the Destin Jetties. This is by far an extremely popular spot for the locals because it’s semi-private and gorgeous there. This spot is utilized for “beach diving” with up to fifty feet of diving space. Here you will see a color array of fish, dolphins and crabs. While you dive the kids can play along the rocks and catch some little hermit crabs.

Where it is located there is virtually no waves so it’s a great spot for swimming and exploring.

So, if you prefer to dive in fresh water you will have to check Vortex Springs out. It’s located about an hour from Destin but worth the drive for its natural beauty and breathtaking scenery.

The spring itself goes down sixty feet which you can see all the way to the bottom. It’s a site you will have to see for yourself. You will be amazed at the amazing sites to be seen here. You can also camp, kayak and canoe. The kids will have a blast!
