View over 60 mounts of fish caught by anglers in Destin waters and learn about local fish. Also come and see the restored “Primrose”, Destin’s last seine boat and the oldest still in existence. Check out the original first post office building that served the early pioneers.
Experience the feeling of swimming in the Gulf of Mexico with award winning examples of fish caught in Destin. This exhibit is displayed on a 100 feet of wall space depicting the Gulf floor. You will be exceptionally amazed, and will learn so much about Destin while you are here.
Also, you will be able to view a large collection of antique fishing rods and reels, the most unique is constructed of split bamboo with an original Penn Reel, that belonged to Ernest Hemingway. There is so much history just waiting here for you to discover. Visit the original Destin Post Office building located adjacent to the property. Enjoy vintage photographs of early Destin settlers, boat captains and their boats, beach scenes, businesses, and much more. This will make a perfect family day trip for everyone to enjoy.
